My wife and I did some baking over the weekend and with two desserts on our wish list. The first of which is an old family favorite the home made oatmeal raisin cookies and a new recipe for a deep dish pumpkin cheesecake pie with a layer of chocolate chips in the middle to separate the cheesecake and the pumpkin. Well the first yummy treat to be cooked with the help of my daughter was going to be the oatmeal raisin cookies. As we gathered up the ingredients for our baking extravaganza we realized we were short some ingredients for the pumpkin cheesecake pie so my wife volunteered to run to the store for the missing ingredients and I decided to bake the cookies with my daughter in the interest of saving some time. Prices are up for everything on the market today and that includes the foods we are eating. I like most people out there have taken a sizable hit in the wallet thanks to rising gas and food prices. One of the end results for all this extra money going out the door is looking for some creative ways to not only stretch the miles in my car but stretch out the amount of meals I get from my food.
